When I created this traditional piece for my illustration class, I drew my inspiration from an article about Susanna Clarke, one of my favorite authors (you can read the article here: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2020/09/14/susanna-clarkes-fantasy-world-of-interiors). I focused on the concept of an endless house full of unexplored doorways and halls, inspired by the setting of Clarke's latest book, Piranesi.
